Notes
Death
It is seldom that the sympathies of this community are so universally and so deeply aroused, as on Saturday afternoon when the death of Mr. Thomas Searcy was announced on the streets. He had been suffering for several days with that disease so frequently fatal, a malignant form of flux. Until Saturday morning, his condition was reasonalby encouraging, and hopes were entertained for his recovery. But he grew suddenly worse during the day and died about three o'clock in the afternoon. Thos. Searcy was a good business man, industrious in his habits, conscientious in his dealings, in a word a true Christian gentleman. He was 27 years of age, and leaves a wife and two smalll children. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. W. Y. Davis at the Presbyterian Church Monday morning, and the remains were interred in the Lawrencebug Cemetery. The following were the floral offerings: Large crown and star, from his father Mr. J. S. Searcy; Pillow, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Searcy; Anchor, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Searcy; Harp, Mr. and Mrs. E. Ottenheimer; Cross, Mr. Goodloe Searcy.Endnotes
