Felix William Jones
(7 Sep 1803 - 26 Aug 1887)
Felix first farmed in Edmonson County, Kentucky. On September 8,1849, he sold his home to John R. Crump in Edmonson County, Kentucky (Deed Book E, page 137, Edmonson Co. Kentucky). He then started out with his family and infant son, Hartford, to his new farm in Cave Township, Franklin Co., Illinois. In 1860 census he listed his real estate value as $640; his personal property at $488. Kathrine (Kate) lived out her life with her son, Hartford, after Felix' death. They were of Welsh descent.

Jones are held and firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal sum of 50 pounds the true payment of which will and truly to be made to the said Commonwealth.------ We bind ourselves our heirs__jointly and firmly by these presents,
sealed and dated this 24th day of April 1826._____
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Felix W. Jones is about to obtain a License for a marriage intended between himself and Honor Jones. Now it there be no lawful cause to obstruct said marriage then this obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue.

Know all men by these presents that we Felix W. Jones & John Rowntree are held & firmly bound unto the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the penal sum of fifty pounds, the payment of which will and truly to be made-- we bind ourselves our heirs -- jointly and severally firmly by these presents sealed and dated this 20th day of March 1839---
The condition of the above obligation is such that the above bound Felix W. Jones is about to obtain a license for a marriage intended between himself and Katharing Cockerill. Now if there be unlawful cause to obstruct said marriage then this obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue in law--
