William Behrends Stutt.
The sudden and unexpected of William Behrends Stutt occurred at his home in Wayne township on a farm Just north of the Zion's Lutheran church. He suffered a stroke of paralysis at 11 p.m. Thursday, and passed away at 7:15 a.m. the following morning. His death came as a decided blow to his family and many relatives.
Mr. Stutt was a son of John and Gesche Maria Harms Stutt. He was born September 20, 1880 and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church April 7, 1895, by Rev. C, Mardorf.
The marriage of Mr. Stutt to Catherine Sophie Tobiason occurred May 8, 1907. Three children were born to this union, two sons and a daughter, viz: Harvey, who has faithfully assisted his parents in conducting the home farm, and Willis and Hanna.
He is also survived by five brothers: Henry of Monticello, John of Edinburg, Texas, Herman of Langworthy, and Edward and George of Wayne township, and by one sister, Mrs. Henry Folkers, also of Wayne Throughout his life Mr. Stutt followed the vocation of a farmer. He was highly successful and was so regarded by his many friends and neighbors. Funeral services were held for him at Zion's Lutheran church, with Rev. John Willms presiding pastor, last Sunday, January 13, at 2 p.m. Burial was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
