Funeral services for Mrs Minnie Hinrichs Null were held Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 17, at 2 o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church. Rev. August K. Stenzel officiated. Burial was in St. John's cemetery. Her demise followed an illness of a few days.
Tete Maria Wilhelmina Brokens was born Dec. 16, 1872 in Reepsholt, Germany, the daughter of John and Maria Finkenstand Brokens. When a young girl she came with her parents to the United States, and made her home in the Center Junction and Monticello communities.
On Dec. 30, 1890 she was married to Tobias Hinrichs in the home of Rev. Frederich Von Strohe The couple made their home on a farm near Center Junction and became the parents of nine children. Mr. Hinrichs preceded his wife in death on June 16, 1913. Mrs. Hinrichs and her children continued farming for 10 years.
On Jan 10, 1923 she was married to Gerd Null of Monticello, and the couple made their home in Monticello. Mr. Null passed away in January, 1936.
Survivors include five sons, John Hinrichs, and Elmer Hinrichs, both of Center Junction, William Hinrichs of Cedar Rapids, Henry Hinrichs of Amber and Alva Hinrichs of Monticello; three daughters, Mary, Mrs. Harry Moore of Onslow, Lillian, Mrs. Frank Divoky of Oxford Junction; and Mabel, Mrs. Len Fluckiger of Monticello. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Zeadow of Sanborn and Mrs. Margaret Ward of Oxford Junction. One son, Clarence, and one brother and two sisters have preceded her in death.
Mrs. Null was a member of St. John's church for many years, having been confirmed April 3, 1887 by Rev. Von Strohe.
