Death
Mrs. Wm. Prouty died Tuesday morning of last week at the home of her son, John Prouty, two miles south of Cumberland, where she has made her home for many years. Mrs. Prouty and her husband, now several years deceased, were among the first settlers in Brookfield Township. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon and the remains interred in Brookfield Cemetery.(from "Caldwell Press," Sept. 19, 1895)
