Death
Red Eilers age 79, of Monticello, died early Saturday morning, July 8, 2006 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held 10:30 Monday morning, July 10, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Al Polito will officiate at the services. Surviving are 2 children, Debra (Jim) Siebels, Central City, Dennis (Gina) Eilers, Tonopah, Arizona, 5 Grandchildren, Lonnie, Matt, Trevor, Renee and Will and 2 great-grandsons, Kegan and Jaxon, four brothers, Paul and Marvin (Joan) both of Monticello, Robert (Nancy) of Corpus Christie, Texas, Kenny (Sandy) of Prairieburg; two sisters, Dorothy Janssen of Monticello, Lynn (Donny) Starks of Delhi and a sister-in-law Annabelle Marsh, Anamosa. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Richard and William, and a sister, Helen Schneider.Adelia Marsh was born August 24, 1926 at Monticello, Iowa. She was the daughter of William P. and Helen Boots Marsh. Red received her education in the Monticello Community Schools. She was married to Galen Eilers in 1952 at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. When she lived in Anamosa Red worked at Custis Grocery. After returning to Monticello Red worked at Craigs A&W and also did cleaning for businesses. In later years she was employed by Monty Produce. She retired in 1991. Red never had a drivers license so she talked to everyone she met as she walked to her destination. She loved to listen to old time country music and sing and yodel.Divorce

In the fourth action filed, Adelia M. Eilers, Anamosa asks for a divorce from Galen G. Eilers, Anamosa. Mrs. Eilers also asks for custody of two minor children and for temporary and permanent alimony and support money.
According to the petition, they were married Aug. 19, 1950 at Nashua and separated Feb. 17, 1963. The plaintiff charges cruel and inhuman treatment.
