Mr. and Mrs. Eilers Honored by Friends
Friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Davidson Sunday evening for a picnic supper and shower in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eilers, who were married Jan. 18.
Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. William Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Coleman, Charlie Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. H. Rumple and sons, Harold and Harry; Mr. and Mrs. James Kidwell and Shirley; Mr. and Mrs. Ira Maiden, June, Irene, Delmar, and Dixon.
Other Guests
Others attending were; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Allen; Mrs. and Mrs. Don Miner and Allen;Mecheal Brewerk; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Davidson, Betty Lee, Bobby, and Cheryl Ann, and the guests of honor Mr. and Mrs. Robert Eilers.
Mr. and Mrs. Eilers received dteir presents. and then the evening was spent playing cards and visiting.
Miss Gendora Kidwell was unable to attend, but sent a present.
Brides Shower Given
Earlier, friends of the bride had honored her with a miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. William Norton, Wednesday evening Jan. 22.
Present were Mrs. Howard Johnson, Miss Addie Klinefelter, Mrs. Pauline Hayden, Mrs. Floyd Heald, Mrs. Neal Townsend, Mrs. Harold Norton, Mrs. Neil Norton, Mrs. William Peck, Mrs. Tom Davidson, dthe gues to honor, Mrs. Robert Eilers. Mrs. L. Lloyd sent a present, but was unable to attend.
Mrs. William Peck and Mrs. Jessie assisted Mrs. Norton as hostesses.
Death
Donna Dolores Eilers age 84, passed away Saturday morning, April 19, 2014 in her home following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday May 4, 2014 from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Lawrence room at the Lawrence Center, Anamosa, IA.Donna Dolores Davidson was born September 10, 1929 in Wyoming, Iowa. She is the daughter of Tom and Norma (Norton) Davidson. Dolores attended the Anamosa Community Schools and then married Robert P. Eilers on January 18, 1947 in Anamosa, Iowa.
Dolores was employed at Collins Radio until she retired in 1984. Then she began her many volunteer hours for the Anamosa Community Hospital until last year. In 1995 she was recognized for her dedication. Dolores was also an Eastern Star and a member of the Anitoch Club.
Dolores and Bob travel extensively in retirement through many cruise's and trips Alaska and Australia. Between her passion for her volunteer work and her travels she was known to enjoy her sewing machine, crafts and needle work whether it was a sewing needle for cross stitch or a knitting needle for the many projects shared with her family, friends and charities.
Surviving is her husband Bob, 4 children, John (Diann) Eilers and Phil (Kim) Eilers both of Anamosa, Becky (Steve) Brown, Springville, Galen (Sue) Eilers, Janesville, 13 Grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Cheryl Browne, of Greeley, CO, Betty Colehour, of Stone City, IA along with many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Paul Thomas and her brother Robert Davidson.
