Donna Dolores Eilers age 84, passed away Saturday morning, April 19, 2014 in her home following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday May 4, 2014 from 1 pm to 3 pm in the Lawrence room at the Lawrence Center, Anamosa, IA.Donna Dolores Davidson was born September 10, 1929 in Wyoming, Iowa. She is the daughter of Tom and Norma (Norton) Davidson. Dolores attended the Anamosa Community Schools and then married Robert P. Eilers on January 18, 1947 in Anamosa, Iowa.
Dolores was employed at Collins Radio until she retired in 1984. Then she began her many volunteer hours for the Anamosa Community Hospital until last year. In 1995 she was recognized for her dedication. Dolores was also an Eastern Star and a member of the Anitoch Club.
Dolores and Bob travel extensively in retirement through many cruise's and trips Alaska and Australia. Between her passion for her volunteer work and her travels she was known to enjoy her sewing machine, crafts and needle work whether it was a sewing needle for cross stitch or a knitting needle for the many projects shared with her family, friends and charities.
Surviving is her husband Bob, 4 children, John (Diann) Eilers and Phil (Kim) Eilers both of Anamosa, Becky (Steve) Brown, Springville, Galen (Sue) Eilers, Janesville, 13 Grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Cheryl Browne, of Greeley, CO, Betty Colehour, of Stone City, IA along with many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Paul Thomas and her brother Robert Davidson.
