Member of the Watauga Association in Watauga Fort, June 21, 1776.
Took part in all the early Indian wars in Tennessee under Shelby, Sevier and Christian.
Was in the following battles of the Revolution, Thickety Fort, Cedar Springs and Musgrove's Mill in South Carolina. Was detailed from the King's Mountain, SC espedition to defend the Watauga Settlement from Indian invasion.

Death
Hider, MichaelDied before August term 1790 when the will was proved by Edmd. Williams, Robert English & Henry English. Elizabeth Hider and John Hider were executors. (Was TN, Co Ct. Min, 1/456)
Note: Tennessee did not become a state until 1796. What is now Carter County Tennessee was originally part of the "Washington District" organized in 1775. In 1777, the district became Washington County, North Carolina. On June 1, 1796, Washington County, North Carolina was transferred to Washington County, Tennessee by a vote of the U.S. Congress. Records began in January 1778.
