Honorable Francis Burt
(13 Jan 1807 - 18 Oct 1854)
A lawyer of distinction, of Pendleton, South Carolina. He was admitted to the bar of South Carolina, 1828, held the office of third auditor in Washington, for several years, and was appointed by President Pierce, governor of Nebraska. He died in Oct. 1854, soon after assuming the office. He and George Ann Hall had eight children (Dawson, 352).
