John Bailey appears first in Scituate, as tenant to Capt. John Williams before 1670, at Farm neck. By Capt. Williams' will, dated 1691, John Bailey was given the farm upon which he dwelt, the so-called 'ancient Bailey farm' at Conihassett. It adjoined the Briggs lands on the west.
