Individual Details
Daniel O. Hughes
(20 Jan 1876 - 19 Jan 1918)
Daniel O. Hughes was born circ 1876 in Falls County, Texas, to Daniel S. and Harriet Rouse Hughes.
According to a note on Family Tree Maker Online, from Kaye Graves Van Fleet, March 13, 2004, a descendant of John Reid l574 Ireland, who was Mary Frances Parsons 1886, married (possibly around 1905) to Daniel O. Hughes 1876, and they had children:
Charles Daniel Hughes l908
Lucile Maria Hughes 1909
Helen Phipps Hughes 1911
Elizabeth Rouse Hughes 1912
Louis Elmo Hughes 1914
In 1900 Census, Texas, Hill County, there is a Dan O. Hues, farmhand, born Jan 1876, 24 yrs old, living with Gore, Luerang?, female, head of family, born 1859, 5l yrs old, widowed, no children born to her, born Georgia, living in Justice Pct #2, place #130, fam #130. They lived near #131, 131, Flipps, Austin33 yrs old, wife Alice and children.
Is there a marriage record for Daniel O. Hughes and Mary Frances Parsons, married around 1905-1908?
Possibly in Hill County, Texas, or Falls County, Texas?
I talked to Kaye Van Fleet in September, 2004, and she didn't know any more about the Daniel O. Hughes who married Mary Frances Parsons. However, I feel that this Daniel O. Hughes is the same as Daniel O. Hughes, son of Daniel S. Hughes and Harriet Rouse. Note the above childrens' middle names of - Maria, Phipps, Rouse.
I have searched the 1910 and 1920 Texas Census for a Daniel O. Hughes born 1876 and wife Mary Frances with children: Charles 1908, Lucile 1909, Helen 1911, Elizabeth 1912, and Louis 1914. Maybe they are in another state.
Mary A. Perry talked to a Mark at the Rosebud, Texas Funeral Home on Oct 25, 2004, and there is no record of a Daniel O. Hughes being buried in the Powers Chapel Cemetery.
In June 2005, I found Daniel O. Hughes listed in the World Family Tree, Vol 2, Tree #1320 - Parsons, Hughes (on the CD for Family Tree Maker)
