Samuel Capen

(6 Jul 1698 - Aft 1760)

Samuel came to Leicester from Dorchester about 1733, and then to Spencer. He purchased lot 19. This lot he sold to John Lamb in 1751 and purchased part of lot 48. He was a parish clerk from 1747 to 1753. He also served as an assessor for several years. It was said that he was an excellent mathematician. Samuel moved to Belchertown around 1760 where he died.
