Anamosa Eureka (Anamosa, Iowa) Thursday, June 8, 1967Mrs. W. Folkerts Of Anamosa Area Dies on June 5th
Mrs. William (Meta) Folkerts, 91, died Monday, June 5, at Anamosa Community hospital following an illness of three weeks after suffering a hip fracture.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 8, at 2 p.m., at Zion Lutheran church, rural Monticello; Rev. Luther Wachholz will conduct the service. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers Named
Pallbearers include Charles Tyler, George Hall, H. C. Bray, J. Eugene Porter, Hugo Deininger and Rudolph Soukup.
She was born July 26, 1875, daughter of Henry M. Dirks and Trienka M. Hoefing Dirks. Wayne township, Jones county.
Life Outlined
She was married to Frederick J. Husman, Feb. 21, 1895. He preceded her in death July 31, 1910. She was married to William Folkerts, March 23, 1912. Couple farmed in Cass township before moving to Anamosa in 1922.
Survivors include her husband, William; two daughters, Mrs. J. Stanley Waggoner, Anamosa; and Mrs. Anna Sayers. Des Moines; two sons, Henry Scotch Grove; and Edward, Anamosa; 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Beside her first husband, Frederick Husman, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
