John Swan Jr.

(May 1721 - 1800)

In 1766 John Swan moved to Virginia and worked with Henry and Abraham Van Meter to erect Fort Swan and Fort Van Meter. (now Cumberland Township in Greene Co., PA)
About 1767 Thomas Gist led a group of people form Maryland and Virginia to the Tenmile Country which was then a part of Virginia. Both John Swan and Henry Van Meter were part of this group.
