Death
Times-Picayune, New Orleans, March 10, 1898, Page 2"Rev. David Morton, D. D.
Louisville, Ky., March 9 - The Rev. David Morton, D. D., secretary of the board of church extension of the Methodist Episcopal church, south, died to-day at his residence in this city.
Death was the result of blood poisoning, which set in in a trilling scratch received Saturday, to which no attention was paid at the time.
For the past sixteen years Dr. Morton has been one of the most conspicuous figures in the Methodist church. He was born June 4, 1830, at Russellville, Ky.
He is survived by his wife and four sons. The funeral services will be held to-morrow at the Fifth and Walnut Street Methodist church."
