On motion of John Jones, it is ordered that license to celebrate the rites of matrimony be granted unto him, having into bond in penalty of 500 pounds with John Dicus, Philip F. Jones and Martin H. Webb, his securities conditioned as the law directs, and also taken the oath of allegiance to this commonwealth. - Edmonson Co., KY Orders Book I, Jul 1825

Notes from Deed event: This indenture made and entered into this 23rd day of November 1867 between Martin H WEBB of the County of Edmonson State of Kentucky of the first part and Webster C WEBB of the County and State aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that the party of the first has for and in consideration of the sum of ten barrels of corn per year or the value thereof annually during his natural life and one dollar in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged the party of the first hereby bargains, sells and conveys to the party of the second part a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Edmonson and State of Kentucky on Nolin River and bounded as follows to wit beginning on a rock marked D G running thence down to Nolin with its meanders S4W3 poles S10E32 poles thence S17E30 poles thence S20W12 poles S32W10 poles S25W22 poles S5E16 S27E56 poles S35E12 poles to beech on the bank of So. river thence N55E26 to 2 beeches thence N40W24 poles to a hickory thence N55W12 poles to a stake thence N26W40 poles to a black walnut thence N17E32 poles to an elm thence N31E110 poles to a white oak thence N68E44 poles to two hickories and sourwood thence N30W90 poles to a black oak thence S95W56 poles to a poplar & black oak thence S10E80 poles a stake thence S64W35 poles to the beginning containing by survey 85 acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances thereunto belonging to the party of the second aprt and his heirs forever free from the claim of the first part his heirs or any other person claiming by through or render him but warranties no further to said party of the second part his heirs &c. In witness whereof the party of the first part hereto sets his name the day and year above written. M H WEBB Elizabeth A WEBB State of Kentucky County of Edmonson I, Noah Morris, Clerk of the County Court of the County aforesaid do certify that the foregoing deed was on the 23rd day of November 1867 produced to me in my office and acknowledged and delivered by the grantors to be their act and deed which deed is duly stamped as required by Act of Congress and that I have truly recorded the same and this certificate in my office.
