Death
Evelyn Prouty Reynolds went to be with our Lord on May 23, 2009, in Houston, TX.Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home on High St. in Jackson. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2009, at Lakewood Memorial Park.
She was raised and spent most of her life in Jackson, Mississippi, and was a resident of Cypress, Texas for the past twelve years, where she was actively involved in the lives of her son, Ron Reynolds, daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Wendell Wyborny, and grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Darin Wyborny and Shannon Allemang.
She started life a miracle baby, an eight months' premie, born in a country farm house in Flora, Mississippi on September 26, 1916, left school at fourteen to help support her parents after her father was badly injured in a construction accident, and maintained her strong faith and spirit and highly organized habits throughout her life. Always independent, she attended to her own washing and cooking until just weeks before her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Frank Reynolds; her parents; and nine brothers and sisters.
In addition to her Texas family, she is survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews in the Jackson, Baton Rouge, and Houston areas and longtime family friends, Ila Keith, Errol Hall, and Julian Gates.
The family wishes to thank the medical professionals and support service personnel who attended to her needs the last weeks of her life.
