Henry Johnson was doubtless one of the individuals brought over by Robert Taliaferro
Essex Co , Deed Book 11, pg. 25, Deed of Gift, 25 Jul 1695.
Henry Johnson, intended to marry, "gives his four daus, all under 21, personal property, Elizabeth the eldest, Sarah the second, Catherine the third, Ann the fourth and youngest dau."

Descendants of William Johnson of Middlesex Virginia
1. Henry JOHNSON, son of Unknown and Unknown, was born about 1675 and died in 1722 in Lancaster Virginia about age 47.
General Notes:
**PLEASE NOTE: We have no paper trail to Henry** We begin with Henry Johnson of Old Rappahannock now Essex County. We know Henry was born about 1670 as he was old enough to own land in 1691. It would appear he has at least two brothers Thomas and Richard which are found in several deeds in Old Rappahannock and now Essex Counties along with Henry. Although we are not sure where he was born, we suspect that Henry is related to the William Johnson who first patented land on the Puscatation (aka Coxes Creek aka Piscattaway) Creek in Old Rappahannock County in 1636.
Henry Johnson appears in the records of Old Rappahannock, the first is in 1691: DB 8 PG 307 Ralph Whitten and Elizabeth Whitten to Thomas Johnson and Henry Johnson 100 acres on the Dragon Swamp. Witness: Tobias Severeth, John Bolliue
Henry married Elizabeth Mussett (abstractors sometimes list her last name as Muffett) sometime before 1696 we know they were married because of another deed found in Essex County:
1696 DB 9 PG 68 & 69: Henry and Thomas Johnson sell 100 acres on Dragon Swamp to Wyatt Linhard.
Mary wife of Thomas and Elizabeth wife of Henry appoint Robert Halsy their attorney in fact and give up dower rights. Also noted in Order Book 2, page 29.
**It must be noted that there were two Henry Johnsons living at the same time in Essex County.
One was married to Mary Taliaferro** at the same time our Henry and Elizabeth were living in Farnham Parish Essex/Old Rappahanock.
**This Henry Johnson Mary Taliaferro** line has been traced by another Johnson family and any relationship to our Henry is not known at this time.

Vo. 29, Essex County, Va. p 5 (p. 27) Will of Henry Johnson of St. Mary's Parish, Essex County, Planter. Dated 30 Oct, 1702, Probated 10 June 1703, to son Richard 400 acres "I now live upon." To daughter Ann, Plantation Robert Bent lives on; to daughter Katherine 100 acres "the backwardest part of the tract" to son Richard the 2-1/4 acres bought of Capt. Battalile (probably a Mill)Personal Estate to be divided among four children; Richard, Sarah, Katherine, and Anne "and my wife", daughter Elizabeth having had her part. To be delivered to heirs at age or marriage.

A different version is found in Katz's work as follows: "To son Richard 400 acres I now live on; Daughters Elizabeth, Catherine, Ann having had her (their?) parts. To be delivered to heirs when at age of marriage. Witnesses Anton Labrie, Peter Bourne, James Harrison."
