John Nixon and Elizabeth Craig had a son named Thomas C. Nixon b. 1793 Camden Dist. Kershaw S.C. He became a Methodist Circuit rider and Preacher, as was his father. Thomas went to Mississippi, married Elizabeth Rawls in 1824, Settled at Utica, MS, Hinds Co. They raised 11 Children, John Columbus, Eliza Ann, Jabez Henry, Beatina, Sarah Ann, Thomas Canty, Mary Elizabeth, Wesley Rawls, George Daughtery, Julie Virginia and Martha Jane.

I have more info on the Craigs, Gr Grandfather, Rev Thomas Nixon, Utica MS, when his father, John Nixon Jr, died went back home, Mount Pleasant, Tn, and copied the family Bible and I have a copy of these writings. First, at times he wrote Cragg, then Craig, I believe Cragg was the common spelling at that time. The info I'm giving you at this time comes from my Generation Chart, I do have more info in my files, boxes. John Nixon, Jr, son of John Bently Nixon, was born 2 July, 1768 in Kershaw County, SC. Married Elizabeth Cragg, born 11 Nov. 1767, died , 25 June 1823, Mount Pleasant, Maury County, TN. John Nixon Jr died 9 Dec 1840, Mount Pleqasant, TN. John and Elizabeth are burried in the old Shiloh Church Cemetery, John was also a Methodist Preacher. Elizabeths father was William Cragg, her mother was Martha. This Craig family came from England.
