Donna Heinz writes (Feb 04): I have a Calvin Adams born to a James and Mary Adams in Brookfield, Mass. The only James that seems to fit is the James married to Dolly Prouty. From following census and other miscellaneous records, "wife of James Adams" died in Sturbridge at an early age and left quite a few children. James died years later in a drowning. My thinking is that the children moved in with relatives after the mother died. I have not been able to find anyone that has any further info. on Dolly, so I am assuming that they are as stumped as I am.
James and Dolly did have one son, who has been well documented named Alphonso. My Calvin, named a son Alphonso and another James.....could be coincidence or maybe one day I'll be able to prove it out. If only my Calvin's death certificate would have shown his parents as James and Dolly, instead of James and Mary.
