Mindwell Sophia Buchanan

Mindwell Sophia Buchanan ( fourth child of Cyrenius Buchanan ) was born Aug. 8, 1858 at Lowell, Ohio. She was married June 29, 1882 to William H. Lord of Marietta, Ohio. He was a conductor on the B&C R.R. for many years and is know living retired on a pension at 423 Fifth St., Marietta, Ohio. She was greatly interested in her family history and obtained much valuable information of her people. She got a record of Peter Howe as revolutionary soldier which admitted her into the Daughters of American Revolution. They had one child George Ransom. W, H, Lord died July 21, 1926.

Peter Howe (1756-1842) enlisted, 1777, as a soldier in Capt. Ebenezer Allen's company, Colonel Herrick's regiment of Rangers. He was at the battles of Bennington, Mt. Defiance, Diamond Island, and Stillwater. He was born in Marlboro, Mass.; died in Ohio.

Steven Ransom (1722-96) was a minute man at the Lexington Alarm and was wounded in service. He was born and died in Lynn, Conn.
