Harold's research shows that the Tavis family was near Fort Bragg, Ca. in the early 1890's. He thinks they may have come to Humboldt Co. or Del Norte Co. about 1900. His mother told him that her father Alfred Tavis walked from Fort Bragg to Crescent City, Ca.
