In the Name of God Amen the Ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand, Seven hundred and Fifty One, and in the Twenty Fifth year of the Reign of our Sovering Lord Kind George the Second of great Britain I Isaac Holmes, of Charles Town, in the Province of South Carolina, Hercht being sick and weak in Body, but (Blessed be God) of Sound and disposing Mind and Memory; Calling to Remembrance the uncertainty of this Transitory Life, and the Mortality of Human Nature Do Make and Ordain this my last Will & Testament and hereby Revoke and disavowal all former and other will & wills testament and testaments by me made or declared either by Word or Writing so that this and no Other, shall be and remain as and for my only Last Will and Testament, And Principally I Commend my immortal soul to God, my Creator. Trusting wholly in the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ my Blessed Savior, for the Pardon of my Sins and the gift of Eternal Life and Salvation and my Body, at Death I Commit to the Grave, to be interred, at the Discretion of my Executrix and Executor herein after named in a decent Christian like Manner; And as to all such Worldly Estate as it both pleased God to Bless me with, I give devise and Bequeath the same and any part thereof, in manner and form following: that is to say: Imprimis; I Will and Ordain that all my Just Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be fully paid and Satisfied, Item. I give and Bequest unto my dearly beloved Wife Elizabeth Holmes, in lieu full Recompense and Ban of all or any dower, [] or Interest whatsoever, can or shall claim or demand by any way or means of ... of all or any part of my estate whatsever or wheresoever (Except only such part, Share and Interest therein, as in and by this my last will and Testament is, or shall be given, devised or Bequested unto her) and not Otherwise the Sum of Ten Thousand Pounds current Money of South Carolina aforesaid.
Item I give and Bequest unto my said Executrix hereafter named and the Survivors and Survivor of them, and the Executor and Administrator of such Survivor, to and for the several ......
.... that is to say; all my Plate, Household Furniture and Items (not hereafter Otherwise given) that they my said Executors do and shall Permit and Suffer her my said Wife Elizabeth, so long as she shall continue and live my widow, and no longer, and all my unmarried children, as long as such children respectively during the widowhood of my said wife, shall remain unmarried, and no longer, Joysity to have use, imploy and receive and enjoy to and for their equal Benefits and Behoofs, the whole Profits an Advantages of the said Plate, Household Furniture and Slaves, But at the Death or Marriage of her my said Wife (which shall first happen) I will that they my said Executors do and shall equally share and divide the said Plate, Household Furniture & Slaves; that is to say in case of my said Wifes marriage, there to and amongst her my said Wife and all my Seven Children or the Survivors of them, Share and share alike, But in the case of her my said Wifes Death, there only to and amongst all my said Seven Children or the Survivors of them share and share alike. to be and remain to their several and respective proper uses, and Behoofs for ever Item I give, devise and Bequeath unto my said Executor hereinafter named and the Survivors and Survivor of them, and the heirs and Assigns of such Survivor, all that my Messuage or House and Land, with the Buildings therein, where I now live, as also all that m lot of Land, situate near & adjoying to Land of Capt Simmons, in Charles Town aforesaid, with all the Appurtenances to each of them belonging; upon the special Trust and Confidence Nevertheless; and to and for the several and Respective Uses, interests and purposes hereinafter limited expressed and declared of for and concerning the same, and to and for no other use, intent and purpose whatsoever, that is to say, That they my said Executors do and shall permit and suffer her my said wife Elizabeth, so long as she shall live and continue my widow, and no longer; and all my unmarried Children, so long as such children, respectively (during my said wife's living my widow) shall and remain unmarried, and no longer, Jointly to have use employ and receive the profits of the said Messuage or house and land, with the appurtenances where I now Live, on the south side of [] Street, Charles Town aforesaid to her and their own joyat and

Item, I hereby give and confirm unto my Loving Daughter Elizabeth, one Negro Girl Slave, named Lydia which I had formerly promised or given to her. And whereas I heretofore desired or Oddied my Friend James Crokatt Esq. and Company of great Britain, to pay unto my Loving Son Isaac Holmes the sum of one thousand pounds sterling money and all his expenses which he shall personally incur to to be put to, in and though, in and through out his present voyage from hence to , and back again from Great Britain aforesaid, Now I hereby Declare and my Will and Meaning is that I do give and Bequest unto him my said son Isaac Holmes, the said sum of one thousand pounds Sterling and n other moneys already paid, or which hereafter shll or ought to be paid him for his expenses, as aforesaid until his Return into this Province Item I give and Bequest unto my loving Daughters, Rebecca Susanna and Martha to each of them, respectively, the sum of Four Thousand Five hundred pounds current money of South Carolina: which I will shall be put out, be Interest or good security, by my said Executrix and Executors herein after named, as soon as law be conveniently done, Yearly, and every Year, and that the Principal and Yearly Interest that shall accrue thereon be paid unto them my said three Daughters, severally as they shall Attain to the age of Twenty one Years or day of Marriage, respectively which shall first happen; Provided that such Daughter of Daughters shall Marry with the consent of my said Executrix and Executors, Otherwise such Legacy or Legacies respectively, shall not be payable until She or they shall attain to here or their age of Twenty One years. Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Ann Mathews, my Negro Woman Slave named Phillis, and her two Children which She now hath; and all her future issue and offspring also, I give, Devise and Bequeath unto my said Son, Isaac Holmes, his heirs and Assigns, forever, my House and Land at Bacon's Bridge, near Dorchester, in this Province, together with al and singular the Store Houses and Other Buildings Whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any wjse appertaining

This Day died Isaac Holmes, Esq; lately appointed Member of his Majesty's Honourable Council. (Monday, November 25, 1751.) (Salley 24).
