Edna Hinrichs Is Buried In Zion Cemetery

Funeral services for Edna Hinrichs were held Saturday, August 11, from the Goettsch funeral home, and later from the Wayne Zion Lutheran church. Burial was in the Wayne cemetery. Her pastor, Rev. F. H. Kehren, had charge of the services.
Edna Elizabeth Hinrichs, whose untimely death occurred Wednesday evening, August 8, at 9:45 at her home, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hinrichs. She was born July 16, 1924 in Wayne township and lived the short span of her life in this vicinity.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was an active member of the Zion congregation, serving as one of the Sunday school teachers.
Miss Hinrichs graduated from the Monticello public school wit the class of '42, and taught for two years in the rural schools.
In 1943, her health failed and she had been seriously ill of a heart ailment at her home during the past weeks. Her brother, Raymond Hinrichs, S 1/c, Seattle, Wash., was granted an emergency leave to visit her two weeks ago, but was unable to be present for the funeral services Saturday.
Surviving her in addition to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hinrichs, are three brothers, S 1/c Raymond Hinrichs of Seattle, Wash., Wilbur and Paul, and a sister, Dorothy, at home; her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hinrichs of Anamosa and Mrs. Albert Heiken, Monticello, and her great grandmother, Mrs. Marie Heiken of Castle Grove; her fiance, Merlin Kuehl; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Pall bearers were Carl Wolken, Milo Tobiason, Donald Tobiason, Roy Schoon, Roy Null, and Milton Harms.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral from a distance were: Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Kuehl, Mr. and Mrs. Rialto Kuehl, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kuehl, Mrs .William Earhardt, James Stence, and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Woods, from Elkader; Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Kuehl, Bernell Kuehl and Miss Eileen Steffler from Garnavillo; and Mrs. Henry Feddersen of Clarence.
