Death
WATERLOO - Johnette Reed, 96, of Waterloo, went into the arms of the Lord on October 14, 2009, at the Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. She was peacefully surrounded by her family. Johnette Olmsted Reed was born on August 7, 1913 in Waterloo, the daughter of John H. and Agusta (Pieters) Olmsted. She grew up in Waterloo and graduated from East High in 1931. Johnette and her husband, Allen S. "Bud" Reed, owned and operated the Park Road Inn in Waterloo for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis W. Smith and her second husband, Allen S. "Bud" Reed. Johnette is survived by her only son, John F. Smith of Waterloo; a granddaughter, Lisa Ann (Andy) Stumpfhauser of Cocoa, Florida; a niece Bette Judas of Waterloo; three grandnieces, Paulette Reinard, Renell (Doug) Richter and Tonda (Rick) Foster of Waterloo and Cedar Falls. Johnette will me dearly missed by all who knew her.Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel.
Memorials may be directed to the local humane society in honor of her beloved pet "Taco."
Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.
