Morgan S Bryant

(Abt 1807 - )

Some years ago I went through a little town on the coast of Calif. named "Harmony" and it was for sale. it had only a dairy and a post office in it and the old dairy had become a pottery shop. It also had a post office. I recently learned that your Morgan had a dairy right in that exact area. I think Harmony must have been part of Morgan's ranch. He made only butter. He and his son Morgan, who had a twin Martha. Twins run in our Bryant family too. A son of our Morgan had twins and a grandon of our Morgan had twins and there are others. I found another set of twins named Morgan and Martha and they were 23 and lived in Christian, KY in 1850. - Jackie 2/2010.

The town of Harmony began as a dairy settlement in the late 1800s started by Swiss immigrants living near the Italian border--the same background as many of San Luis Obispo County's founders, including the Madonna Family, owners of the Madonna Inn located in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Harmony was founded in 1869 around several dairy ranches and a creamery. The operation changed hands repeatedly because of rivalries that led to a killing. In 1907, owners and ranchers agreed to call off their feud and called the town by its present name as a symbol of their truce.
