John Nikolaus Breuer

(6 Dec 1794 - 22 Nov 1859)

Other tid-bits from Barbara Deuhs: (Cathy Girgen)

Apparently one of the Breuer descendants here in America, was a famous painter and spelled his surname as "Brewer". Barbara noted in one of her letters: "My mother could be considered a contemporary of Nicholas Brewer, the portrait painter, son of Peter Brewer, cousin to grandfather. (mother was 9 years younger). She would call him when she came into the city, and he appeared to be glad to see her. They would discuss the family book. He did locate it in Belgium and brought it back, mother saw it a few times but not for any length of time. He did agree that probably it should be in mother's family because of the spelling. However, he died in 1949. I did talk to his son after my mother's death, but did not bring up the book. I am sure the book would show relationship to others outside the Breuer family." Now I am uncertain, WHAT this BOOK is other than it could be a genealogy book of some kind . . . "
