Eudora "Dora" Colvin

(3 Oct 1862 - 21 Jul 1937)

"Aunt Jane's daughter, Dora Colvin, who had married and been left a widow, made her home with Charles Broyles during the last years of her life. She and I had corresponded from early childhood, though we had never seen each other until we were both near thirty years of age. She had then been a teacher in her home state, Texas, for several years, and I had returned from several years work in China, when we first met in the summer of 1892. We had some happy days together in John Adair's home, near Brownsboro in Henderson County, Texas. Then, again, in 1905 (eleven years later) Dora and I were again together in her own home near Willspoint, Texas.
Until a short time before her death, which occurred some years ago, we had continued tjo correspond. Now, since I'm no longer to do much writing, I've lost sight of my Texas relatives" Betty Hughes
