Death
MRS. D. DIRKS SERVICES ARE PLANNED FRIDAYFuneral Services for Mrs. D.J. Dirks are planned for Friday afternoon at 2:30 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church in Wayne township. Rev. F.H. Kehren, pastor of that church, will have charge of the services, with interment at Zion cemetery.
Mrs. Dirks, whose maiden name was Wubke Marie Eden, was born Sept. 5, 1870, in Germany. She had lived in Wayne township for 56 years. She was married to D.J. Dirks at Zion church in Wayne township Feb. 28, 1896. Three children were born to this union, Mrs. Henry Weers, Mrs. Lawrence Schaffer and Ernest Dirks, all of whom survive their mother. Mr. Dirks died Aug. 21, 1941.
Mrs. Dirks suffered a stroke six weeks ago and has been in a serious physical condition since that time at her home in Wayne township. She was a lifelong member of Zion church and took an active interest in its work.
