From Jeanette Behan's book, The Woodworth Family of America: In 1675 Elizabeth bore a child out of wedlock, fathered by Robert Stetson, Jr. of Scituate. He was ordered by the court to pay her 2 s. a week for the first three months, and afterwards 1 s. 6 d. until the child was seven years old. Elizabeth’s brother Joseph and Robert’s father, Robert Stetson, agreed that the verdict was just.
Elizabeth was apparently married by 26 Nov 1685 (father's will).16
She did NOT marry Robert Stetson (8307), son of Cornet Robert Stetson (2910) (ca 1615-1 Feb 1702/3) & Honor Tooker (ca 1612-1684). Born on 29 Jan 1654 in Scituate, MA.59 Robert was baptized on 26 Feb 1654.24 Robert died aft 1737. Robert lived in that part of Duxbury which became Pembroke (ergo his being called "Robert of Pembroke").
