"The boy is Eldred Fallin Ellis (names Fallin for his grandfather and grandmother Fallin), who (the boy) was a soldier in the U.S. regular army and stationed in the Philippines before our war with Germany & he was an officer of some kind then, but I have not heard anything about him since Frida last wrote." (written in a letter to Charles W. Prouty by W. A. Kelsoe in Jan 1920.)

"My nephew is seeing the world too. He is now in Kentucky or Tennessee and I hope you will meet him if you go back that way. His address is Sgt F. J. Ellis H.g Co. 2nd F. A Camp Taylor Ky." written in a letter to Charles W. Prouty by Fannie F White, April 15, 1920.

"Mabel’s boy – Eldred Ellis, or “Fredrick J. Ellis” as he is only Eldred to the family,is a sergeant in Ha Co, 2nd F.A., Camp Taylor, Ky, He will be out ofservice soon," (written in a letter to Charles W. Prouty by Frida Wilber, April 1, 1920)
