Richard Barfield, A Banker Here for Many Years, Dies
Richard Barfield, 74, a banker here for many years, died at 8:30 yesterday at Kentucky Baptist Hospital.
Barfield retire in 1950 as vice-president and secretary of United States Trust Company. He had been with the firm 40 years. The bank merged with Liberty National Bank & Trust Company two years ago.
Graduated From Male
Barfield, of 120 Don Allen Road, won the state tennis championship about 50 years ago. He continued to play tennis until he was in his 60's.
He was a graduate of Louisville Male High School and formerly belonged to Audubon Country Club and Louisville Boat Club.
His wife, Mrs. Josephine Greenfield Barfield, survives.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Pearson's, 149 Breckinridge Lane. Burial will be in Eminence.
