Death

Katherine Margaretha Folkerts, the eldest daughter of Mrs. Jacob Folkerts, of Scotch Grove township, died last Saturday, June 29, of pulmonary tuberculosis, at the age of 24 years. The funeral services were held at the family residence, Tuesday morning, at 11 o'clock, with services thereafter at the Lutheran church near Wayne Center. These services were conducted by Rev. C. Mardorf and Rev. S. Ide. Miss Folkerts was an exceptionally fine young woman, with a wide circle of friends. The funeral was largely attended by mourning friends. Miss Folkerts was born June 2, 1894, in Scotch Grove township. Her father died about 10 years ago, and Katherine, being the eldest of the children, was drawn unusually close to her mother, who depended upon her. Therefore her death, although expected for a long time, was an unusually hard blow to the mother. The decedent is survived by her mother, and two sisters.
