Funeral services for Harry Hayen Kuhns, 78, were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Zion Lutheran church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated.
Mr. Kuhns died suddenly Friday evening, Jan. 29, from an apparent heart attack. He was born near Scotch Grove Oct 29, 1892, the son of William R. and Margaret Hayen Kuhns. He had been a resident of the Scotch Grove area his entire life.
He was married to Johanna Harms May 26, 1915. She preceded him in death Mar 26, 1966. He was also preceded in death by a son and a daughter, two brothers and a sister.
Survivors include two children, Mrs. Cecil (Eloise) McKinstry, Alameda, Calif., and LaVern W., Scotch Grove; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers were Kermit Kuhns, Galen Kuhns, Phillip Owen, Renk Eilers, Dean McDonald and Henry J. Husmann
