Lewis P. Fuller, a respected resident of this place for many years, died at his home on the Charlotte road at 2:00 a.m. last Monday, aged 67 years. He was in town Thursday forenoon and while at the dinner table upon returning home, he fell asleep; and though wakening at times later, he finally passed to the eternal sleep, like a babe at night.

Mr. Fuller was born in Orleans Co., N. Y., and came to Michigan with his parents in 1844, settling in Jackson. He moved to Montcalm county in 1854 from which place he enlisted in the 21st volunteer infantry in 1861 and served nearly three years, when he was discharged on account of ill health. Mr. Fuller was first married Nov. 11, 1868; to Miss Alice Chapel, who was the mother of his two children and whose death occurred in 1882. He was married to Miss Agnes Wood, Feb. 23, 1888, to whom he has been a kind and devoted husband. Besides the widow, he is survived by a son, L. Brook Fuller, of Rochester, Mich., and a daughter, Mrs. Jesse Leak of this city; a brother, D. H. Fuller, and a sister, Mrs. Mary E. Stevens, of Greenville.
