Know all men by these presents that for and in consideration of the sum of nine hundred dollars to me in hand paid we have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain and sell unto Gordom GRUNDY a negro wench JANE about twenty eight years of age and her three children a boy cald JOHN and a girl by the name of LYDIA and boy cald WILLIAM & we do oblige ourselves our Heirs Executors or administrators to warrant and defend the title of the said negroes to be the sd Gardom GRUNDY and his heirs forever. Given under our hands and seals this 28th day of October 1805

Bullitt County towit To all whom it may concern I Frederick William Spence GRAYSON Clerk of the County Court of sd County do make known that on the thirteenth day of this Instant the within Instrument of writing was proven before me at my office by Josiah EVANS and Joseph EVANS sub-scribing witnesses thereto to be the voluntary act and Deed of Mary WOOD and Thomas G. WOOD and that I have truly recorded the Instrument of writing and this certificate of proof thereof in my office. Witness my hand this 21st day of May 1806 Fred W. S. GRAYSON

Bullitt County Will Book A p. 196In the name of god Amen I Josiah EVANS of Bullitt County being of sound mind memory thanks be to god calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say I give and recommend my soul unto the Hands of god that gave it and my body. I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the direction of my Exors. nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the almighty power of god and as touching such worldly estate as it pleased god to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form -
First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Ann my plantation and all my stock of every kind with all my household furniture bed & bedding as long as she remains a Widow and after the death of my Wife Ann I will that my plantation shall be equally divided between my sons Isaac, David, Kephas (Hephas?) and the remaind part of my estate is at the disposal of my wife Ann. I have hereto set my hand and seal this 2nd day of January 1814.
