Deacon Thomas Blossom

Deacon Thomas Blossom was one of the Leiden Separatists and started on the ship Speedwell when she sailed with the Mayflower in 1620. Thomas did not transfer to the Mayflower when Speedwell leaked and they returned to port however, instead returned to Holland to encourage others to emigrate to New England. He wrote to Governor Bradford on December 15, 1625 from Leyden, relating the death of Rev. Mr. Robinson. Thomas came to Plymouth in 1629 and was a deacon in the church there. He died in 1632 (Cutter 767).
