Funeral services for Engel Margaret Bohlken, 86, were held Nov 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Wayne Zion cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated.
Mrs. Bohlken died Oct 31 at Senior Home, where she had been a resident for the past five years. She was born July 2, 1887 in Wayne Township, daughter of Gerd and Anna Katherine Harms Weers.
She received her early education in Jones county rural schools and was married to William Bohlken March 13, 1907. The couple farmed near Scotch Grove their entire life.
In April 1965, she moved to Monticello after the death of her husband.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Clara) Reuter, Center Jct; one son, Gerke, Monticello; a brother, John Weers, Monticello; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Bohlken, Marion, and Mrs. Emma Doden, Monticello, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Casketbearers were Alvin Weers, Paul Waggoner, Gary Bohlken, Milton Tobiason, Marvin Doden and Cornelius Paulsen.
