Individual Details

In the 1830's wagonmaster John Dawson Castellow (various spellings) led Bertie Countians west in wagon trains. Most parties ended up in Tennessee or Illinois. As soon as he settled one group he would return to North Carolina for another. I'm not in the Castellow line although some members of the family did marry my Whites and Hardys.
