FUNERAL SERVICES THIS AFTERNOON
Funeral services for Henry Richard Folkers will be held today at Zion Lutheran church in Wayne Township at 1 o’clock. Short services will be held at the Goettsch funeral home at 12:30. Rev. F.H. Kehren, Lutheran pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Folkers, a son of Harm and Maria Folkers, was born Nov. 11, 1872.He was married to Anglericka
Stutt Feb. 21, 1895. In addition to his wife, the survivors are the following sons and daughters: John, Henry, William T., of Scotch Grove, Harm of Fancy Prairie, Ill., Mrs. Carl Ricklefs of Monticello, and Mrs. John Freese of Anamosa; two brothers,
Tobias Folkers, Monticello, and Herman, Anamosa; and a sister, Mrs. John Stutt, Alamo, Texas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Folkers was a member of the Lutheran church and was confirmed by the late Rev. C Mardorf. He was recognized as one of the successful farmers in Wayne Township.
