James McCulloh

( - Bef 20 Apr 1776)

William had issue, James (now of Camdege near Dundall in Ireland, in whose possession the Memories are, from whom the copy referred to was obtained) who is yet a Bachelor. (Iredell)

A William McCulloch of Camoley is mentioned as having a will probated in County Antrim in 1800. This could be the younger son of William of Piedmont and brother of James of Piedmont. Iredell mentions James of Piedmont as being James now of Camdey. Since this James was unmarried, his estate would go to his brother upon his death. Therefore William McCulloh would be William of Camdey (probably a transcription error lead to the misspelling - Camoley).

These records seem to confirm my theory that Iredell's paragraph quoted below refers to William (McCulloh of Piedmont) had issue James (McCulloh, late of Piedmont)(now of Camdey near Dundalk in Ireland . . .) who is yet a Bachelor and William (who succeeded his brother to the estate of Camdey (Camoley) and died there in 1800) who is now (1773) a widower.
