Individual Details

Rebecca Ussery is the daughter of Richard Ussery and his second wife. The second wife's name is not known to me. Richard married first Mary Goodwin, second Unknown and third Elizabeth Elkins. Samuel is a brother of Rebecca's. He died 1818 and is buried in Hanging Rock Cemetery. Richard's first and second marriages took place in King William County, Virginia. Rebecca was born in King William County, Virginia and her brother Samuel was born abt 1790 in Richmond County, North Carolina. Richard married Elizabeth Elkins in either Richmond County, North Carolina or Lancaster County, South Carolina. A Rev. Dean Ussery has done research on this line and may be able to provide more information. I believe a copy of his works can be found in the South Carolina Archives.
