James Truesdel

(24 Feb 1767 - Bef 1840)

In court records located at the Lancaster County Courthouse, both James and
one of his brothers spelled the last name as "TRUSDEL", and his brother wrote
his name as "Holinsworth". This from a land deal on 08 Nov 1805.

--Notation in column beside this entry - "Recorded 17th January 1807" -- "The
State of South Carolina
Know all men by these presents that I John Miller of the State of North
Carolina Rutherford County in consideration of Sixty Dollars true paid by
James Trusdel of Lancaster District State of South Carolina planter have
granted bargained sold and released and by these presents do grant bargain
sell and release unto the said James Trusdel all that land Parcel or tract of
land containing one hundred Acres more or less ____________________ when
signed Situate in Lancaster District on the Branch of Little linches Creek
bounded on all sides by Vacant land having such shapes signs and marks as
appear by a plat to the grant ____________ which said one hundred acres of
land was originally granted to said John Miller on the 1st day of March 1775
by his Excellency William Bull governor Together with all and singular the
rights hereditaments and appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in
any wise incident or appertaining to have and to hold all and Singular the
_________ before question unto the said James Trusdel his heirs and assigns
forever and I do hereby bind myself and my heirs to Warrant and forever defend
all and Singular the said premises unto the said James Trusdel his heirs and
assigns against myself and my heirs lawfully claiming or to Claim the whole or
any parts thereof Witness my hand and Seal this eighth day of November in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five and in the Twenty Ninth
year of the independence of the United States of America Signed Sealed and
Delivered
