A book "Book Two of the Samuel Jones Family" researched and written by Hazel Parker Jones, has many entries for the Truesdale's, (truesdell, truesdel) of Kershaw and Lancaster counties SC.
On page 291 it says that John C. Horton married Matilda Truesdale. John C. was the son of Jesse Horton who was born in 1793 near Little Lynches Creek, Kershaw County, SC. Jesse Horton was a soldier in the war of 1812.
Matilda Truesdel, the daughter of James Truesdale & Rebecca Ussery (daughter of Samuel Ussery) was the second wife of John C Horton. Matilda & John were married about 8 years after his first wife's death.
