Elizabeth Fuller

Elizabeth's first husband, Nehemiah Sabin, was slain by Indians in 1676, (as was her brothers John and Samuel) leaving children Elizabeth and David. She next married Eleazer Wheelock of Medfield, Mass. and moved to Mendon. Elizabeth is mentioned in the division of her unmarried Uncle William Bowen's estate in 1686/7. She and Eleazer had several children. Their grandson, Rev. Eleazer Wheelock, D.D., was the founder and first president of Dartmouth College, Hanover, N.H. Dr. Wheelock was a man whose life work was unusually filled with original tact and philanthropy." Elizabeth died in Mendon in Jan. 11, 1688/89,
