National Register of Historic Places

Rhodes House, SE of Brighton on Clopton-Gainsville Rd., Brighton, Tipton Co., TN Listed 1980-04-30

Solomon built a house here that is on the national register of historic places - really nice house. From what I know, he was a nice man even though he was a slave owner.  Solomon was married twice with nine children total, I think. He died in 1893 and is buried along with his mom, Mary, in our local Church's cemetery - Clopton Methodist.
The Rhodes family here in Tipton County are good citizens and for the most part well-educated and moral people.
