Jonathan Prouty

Inherited part of his father's lands and bought some tracts. Was heir to the lands in Narragansett Township N.5, which fell to his father's lot in 1733. He d. July 24, 1733; leaving a will in which he gave his property to his brother William and sister Margaret, giving his gun and sword to his "cousin" Nehemiah Prouty. Nehemiah Prouty, of Scituate, by wife Lettia, had son Jonathon, who was a soldier of the Revolution. The family removed to Worthington (Pope 18).
