Felicia Ann Bowles
(Abt 1819 - )
Notes imported from GEDCOM:
Felicia Ann or Philisia Bowles Hunter is probably the sister of WilliamBowles b. 1802-03. The obituary of James N. Bowles, stated that SamuelB. Hunter (son of Felicia/Philisia Bowles Hunter) was the nephew ofWilliam Bowles. It further stated that William and James Bowles went toPulaski County some time after their move in 1850 to Reynolds CountyMissouri, in order to bring back Samuel Hunter. This must have referredto the entire family of Samuel B. Hunter as the Hunter family is on the1860 Federal Census for Reynolds County. The 1880 Federal Census forReynolds County, Missouri listed the birth place of the father of"Philisia" Hunter as Pennsylvania. This is the same birth place asWilliam Bowles. The census also gave the birth place of her mother asKentucky. This is the state in which Nancy Coppedge Bowles was born. AsWilliam Bowles was born in Pennsylvania, either his father remarried tosomeone born in Kentucky or the possibility exists that William and NancyCoppedge Bowles could be her parents instead of William being her brother.
The name Felicia Ann Bowles is the name given as the mother on the deathcertificate of Samuel Barnnett Hunter. The 1860 census listed her nameas Francis. This was probably an error in the pronounciation and orspelling of Felicia, as the age is correct, etc. The 1870 Census forReynolds County, had the name Ann. Again the age is correct and it mustbe assumed that the "Ann" is from either Felicia Ann or Philisianna. The1880 census had the name Philisia.
Both the 1860 and 1880 Federal Census for Reynolds County, gave the birthplace of Felicia/Philsia Bowles Hunter as Kentucky. The 1870 censuslisted the birth place as Missouri. This was probably an error.
Thomas Hunter is on the 1870 Federal Census for Reynolds County but notthe 1880 census. The 1880 census listed "Philisia Hunter age 61, Maggieage 24 and William C. age 23.
