Rev James Samuel Black

I believe the Samuel is the 6th child in FRIN 19. In 1871 He was living next to George Black (b:1814 VA), Robert Black (b:1817 TN), and Rhedmond Black (b:1810 TN). These ajoining tracts of land
were in the area of Black,MO. This land is located at or near the current postoffice and Black River Baptist Church.
Samuel Was a Captain in the 7th Iowa Infantry during the Civil War. After the death of his 1st wife (name unknown) he moved to Missouri with his three children. In 1866 Sam Black was a Church Elder
at the Black River Baptist Church at Black, Reynolds Co., MO. The following were members: Robert Black, and Junior Capenheart Pinckey Coatworth Black (b:1841 ILL). IN1868 Samuel Black was Ordained
at the Black River Baptist Church and became the pastor. Other Blacks in the same general area: Samuel Black b:1827 TN, and William Black B:1836.
