Frank Malecha, Sr., 72, passed away at his home on Tuesday morning, March 8, 1949. He had been ill for about a year and a half. Born in Wheatland township on May 1, 1876, he was a son of Thomas and Anna Krska Malecha. On October 27, 1897, his marriage to Elizabeth Skluzacek was solemnized in New Prague. The couple operated a farm up until a few years ago, and more recently had been living with a son, Jerome, near Little Chicago.
Services were held at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Lonsdale, on Thursday morning, March 10, at ten oclock, and the mass was read by Rev. Stanley Skluzacek of Silver Lake, a nephew of the deceased. Members of the Katolicy Delnik, of which Mr. Malecha was a member, attended the services in a body. Pallbearers were Francis and Richard Barta, John Valek, Ludwig Koktavy, and Leonard and Eugene Malecha, all of whom are grandsons of the deceased. Burial was in Calvary cemetery at Lonsdale.
Surviving him are is wife, Elizabeth and children Mrs. Wencel Koktavy (Elizabeth), and Thomas Malecha of Lakeville, Mrs. Frank Barta (Mary) of Lonsdale, Mrs. Frank Valek (Marcella), Frank, Joseph, Martin, Jerome and Wenceslaus Malecha of Northfield, John Malecha of Faribault and Mrs. Michael Andreas (Anna) of Webster. A brother, Thomas Malecha of Lonsdale, and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Chlan of New Prague and Mrs. John Moravec of Northfield, 65 grandchilren and 3 great grandchildren also survive.
One son died in infancy, and a sister, Mrs. Vaclav Bastyr, and three brothers, Martin, John and Vaclav Malecha, are also deceased.
